Symbian Foundation releases Web app toolkit |
The Symbian Foundation has released a Web application development toolkit for the open-source Symbian 3 mobile platform.
According to a Thursday statement from the foundation, anyone who can create a Web page can create an app for Symbian 3 (marketed as Symbian^3) , as coders only need standard development tools including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Nokia CEO: Symbian 3 launch late, but MeeGo on time
Nokia, the world’s best-selling mobile phone maker, will miss its self-imposed deadline for shipping the new versions of its Symbian operating system for smart mobile devices. But it will meet its end-of-year target for MeeGo, a multi-device platform it is developing with chip maker Intel.
Nokia CEO: Symbian 3 delayed because of quality issues
The release of the eagerly-awaited Symbian 3 operating system, which powers Nokia’s high-end phones, has been delayed to meet quality requirements, Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo said in a conference call on Thursday.
