Vodafone India announced today the launch of its latest generation eco-friendly solar charging handset in India. The new handset uses a solar powered solution to benefit users in areas with adequate sunlight. UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt Hon George Osborne MP and Marten Pieters, MD and CEO, Vodafone Essar Ltd., today launched the VF 247 Solar Powered phone at the Vodafone store in Fort, Mumbai. The launch of VF 247 solar powered phone is in keeping with Vodafone’s aim to increase mobile technology accessibility for millions in India. With an extended solar powered battery, the solar powered phone addresses the problem of unstable electricity supply in many rural areas. VF 247 solar powered phone charges by itself, by exposure to ambient light. Sun Boost, the special inbuilt hardware and software ensures that the phone charges also in a room, under normal daylight. Vodafone UK To Sell Nokia N8, No Pre-Order Yet

T-Mobile UK was the first career to announce, that it would begin to sell the new Nokia N8 soon. Today the NOkia N8 also appeared on website of Vodafone UK. There is no official release date yet, but you can register for updates, but you can not pre-order it yet. The N8 runs on Symbian^3 with support for apps and widgets. Hardware highlights include a 12-megapixel, Xenon Flash, 16GB of built-in memory, and a microSD card slot for adding more. It also offers a multi-touch display and HDMI out.

Vodafone UK finally confirms iPhone 4 tariffs

Vodafone has confirmed its iPhone 4 pricing, becoming the third operator (after O2 and Orange) to do so. The 16GB iPhone 4 will start from £25 per month on a two year deal, with the handset costing £219 – which is £30 more than the leaked figures suggested. That gives you 75 minutes, 250 texts and a generous 1GB of mobile Internet.
